Travel

A number of low-cost airlines such as easyjet and Ryanair operate from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to various European destinations. Manchester Airport is about an hour away by train and has flights to destinations world-wide.

The principal train station is Liverpool Lime Street which has regular services to all major UK cities. Trains to and from London run typically every hour with a 2h 30m journey time — check National Rail for details. The station is 15 minutes walk from the University. Alternatively a taxi cab will cost approx. £5.

It is advisable to be at either Liverpool or Manchester airport at least 90 minutes in advance.

Travel time to Manchester via taxi is 45 minutes and costs approximately £40. Travel time to Liverpool Airport via taxi is 20 minutes and costs approximately £10.Delegates are advised to share taxis to save on cost if at all possible. 

Public transport (train and bus) is available from both airports and costs less but takes a little longer.

Visa

Participants are advised to check well in time whether they require a visa to enter the United Kingdom. Upon request, the Conference Secretariat will send a personal invitation letter to participants of the conference. Such an invitation is only meant to help participants raise travel funds or obtain a visa, and does not represent a commitment on the part of the organisers to provide any financial support.
