World Inclusion Day
Dear Friends, on the October 10th 2022 we celebrate the World Inclusion Day dedicated to highlight an importance of creating a togetherness among individuals possessing various abilities, backgrounds, ages, races, religions, genders, etc. A spirit of being inclusive is to show an initiative and empathy toward the others building compassionate, welcoming, respectful and united society at the same time. Inclusion is a kindness and honouring others, sharing values among each other, appreciating individualities, making each other comfortable and celebrating being united. The culture of inclusiveness causes teams-in-science happy and consolidated, the same increasing their effectiveness. Wishing us all the happy World Inclusion Day 2022, I invite you to explore and practice by yourself how to be more inclusive. Yours, Magdalena --- Dr. Magdalena Wencka J. The 22nd SCTE postponed to spring 2021
The SCTE Conference, organized biannually, is traditionally aimed to provide a platform to discuss recent discoveries and progress in research on solid compounds containing d- and f-electron elements - in the field of solid state chemistry, physics and materials sciences. It is also a unique opportunity to exchange ideas with other scientists in informal atmosphere and to start new collaboration.
Workshop on Phonon lifetime
The workshop "Phonon lifetime from disordered to complex systems: Measurement and Interpretation", supported by ECMetAC, is organized by the Institute of Light and Matter in Lyon on the 19th and 20th of December, 2019.

C-MAC Workshop on “Mechanical properties of CMA and related composites”
This workshop was centred on defect structures, mechanical properties and deformation mechanisms of CMA phase. This meeting was an opportunity for very open discussions including comparison with other types of complex materials even non metallic.
12th International Conference on Quasicrystals (ICQ12)
- AGH University, Krakow, Poland
ICQ12 provided an excellent opportunity to learn about new results in the field of quasicrystals and related topics. The ICQ12 followed the Nobel Prize given to Dan Shechtman in 2011 for the discovery of quasicrystals. Professor Shechtman was an honourable guest of the Conference.
MRS Fall Meeting
We would like to draw your attention to Symposium KK "Complex Metallic Alloys", which we organized as a forum for current reasearch in the field of CMAs. Abstracts dealing with experimental and theoretical work on CMAs and on Quasicrystals are welcome.
- Cairns, Australia
The Commission on aperiodic Crystals of the International Union of Crystallography had organized the 7th International Conference on Aperiodic Crystals in Cairns, Australia, September 2-7, 2012.
