The 14th International Conference on Quasicrystals (ICQ14) took place in Hotel Kompas, Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, May 26 – 31, 2019. This Conference is one of the series following ICQ1 Les Houches, France, ICQ2 Beijing, China, ICQ3 Vista-Hermosa, Mexico, ICQ4 St. Louis, USA, ICQ5 Avignon, France, ICQ6 Tokyo, Japan, ICQ7 Stuttgart, Germany, ICQ8 Bangalore, India, ICQ9 Ames, USA, ICQ10 Zürich, Switzerland, ICQ11 Sapporo, Japan, ICQ12 Cracow, Poland, and ICQ13 Kathmandu, Nepal.
ICQ14 provided an excellent opportunity to present and learn the latest results in the fields of quasicrystals, complex metallic alloys and related topics (aperiodic soft matter, metallic glasses, high-entropy alloys, etc.). The research is highly interdisciplinary, so that the topics included mathematics, physics, chemistry, metallurgy and materials science.
Abstracts were invited in all areas related to (but not limited to) synthesis, crystal growth, phase stability, structure, surfaces and thin films, physical properties, theory, applications and new frontiers of quasicystals, complex metallic alloys and other related materials.
